Benefits of Membership in the MCTA
NETWORK
Interaction among MCTA members creates the opportunity to gain knowledge, share experiences, and heighten business relationships. Networking can supplement your business financially and assist you in customer satisfaction. The annual MCTA membership director will assist you.
REPRESENTATION
MCTA companies throughout Minnesota are afforded benefits and support that only a well established and seasoned Association can provide, and that individual companies acting alone cannot attain. There is strength in numbers.
PROFESSIONALISM
Through MCTA sponsored programs, events, and presentations; invaluable information can be gained on an ongoing basis that improves what we do, how we do it, and why we do it. Membership Certificates and Cards are issued annually.
ASSOCIATES
Industry related businesses are welcome to become active MCTA Associate Members for the mutual benefit of their companies and association members. Direct support with state-of–the-art products and services provide a great resource to benefit all members.
DISCOUNTS
The MCTA has negotiated special programs and discounts on behalf of members, with industry related businesses that can substantially reduce operation costs. These discounts alone are worth the cost of MCTA membership dues. Additional discounts are being sourced.
NATIONAL LIMOUSINE ASSOCIATION (NLA)
The MCTA membership in the NLA affords additional discounts that are offered periodically, although individual company membership is recommended to receive full advantage of all that Association has to offer. The NLA is actively working to save you time and money by actively addressing national issues that impact your ability to operate a successful business. The NLA’s full time lobbyist is on Capital Hill, yet is also available to help fight for local and regional issues. The success of the H.R. 2546 interstate Commerce Legislation demonstrates the NLA’s ability and commitment to fighting for issues that directly affect our industry and our companies.
CITIES
The MCTA has a working relationship with Minneapolis City Officials for information exchanges and police cooperation, giving members a competitive edge on street closings, special limousine parking for events, and identification to Officers to do business within Mpls without undue restrictions.
LEGISLATION
The MCTA Legislative Committee tracks happenings at the Statehouse so you will know immediately about issues of concern and can react. The Airport Committee does a parallel effort with the Metropolitan Airports Commission. The MCTA gives you a proactive voice in the ground transportation arena.
IDENTIFICATION
MCTA members are annually supplied window stickers for each vehicle. These labels provide quick identification to Officials and the general public that you are a MCTA member and subscribe to the highest standards in the transportation industry. The public is becoming increasingly aware of our “Quality Seal” and look for it on the vehicles they hire.
CHARITIES
Members can benefit from MCTA participation in charitable events and functions for civic pride and goodwill of people both urban and rural. The MCTA has contributed to many well known charitable institutions, foundations, and causes for many years including: M.A.D.D., D.A.R.E., Children’s Hospitals, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Toys for Tots, Make a Wish Foundation, Joseph’s Coat, Boy’s and Girl’s Club of America and others.
PERMITS
Because the Mpls Park Board owns all Parkway roads, the Park Police have a long-standing ordinance that requires every commercial vehicle transferring the system to purchase a $300.00 annual Parkway Permit.
